With homecoming quickly approaching, many students are showing school spirit by participating in the themes for the week and the pep rally on Friday. Each day is a different theme for everyone to dress up and show their school pride.
Monday’s theme was Dress like a Holiday and the hallways were filled with Christmas sweaters, Valentine’s Hearts, Halloween costumes, and 4th of July red, white, and blues. Tuesday was Iconic Duo Day, with costumes like Salt&Pepper, Glinda and Elphaba, and Step Brothers. Wednesday is mass dress. Thursday includes bright colors, Hawaiian shirts, and leis for the tropical theme. Friday, the final day before the dance, is homecoming shirts and class colors.
“I am hoping it’s not too hot and that our music goes smoothly and no one forgets anything both in outfit needs and routine movements. I’m excited for this pep rally because this is my senior year and I can’t wait to get on the field to perform our routine,” senior Finley Auping said.
At the all-school pep rally on Friday, there will be many games and performances. Each grade will be in their designated spot, wearing their class colors, to cheer for the competitions. The St. Dominic dance team, along with all levels of cheer, will perform their routines for the St. Dominic community.
“ I am looking forward to cheering because this will be my first pep rally and because I am on the cheer team. I am also excited to see what games they will be playing outside on the field,” freshman Vivian Wagner said.
There will be games happening during the pep rally that include all grade levels and teachers. For each grade level, there will be teachers who represent that grade during the teachers vs. teachers game. The students’ game will be a relay, made up of 6 representatives for each grade, and the one to finish first wins.
As homecoming nears, and all the fun activities come along, many students are looking forward to the week, concluding with the dance. Students are excited for the games, dance, dress-up days to show off their school spirit. This week has had many students anxiously awaiting for homecoming.
