Season twenty-nine of The Voice just wrapped up, introducing many talented singers, but one contestant is a familiar face to us. Liv Ciara, one of the most talked about performers this season, impressed everyone. She made a lasting impact on coaches and audiences alike with her vocals and her emotions. She goes to St. Dominic as a junior. While living this double-life, she went viral on national television while being a full time student at St. Dominic so close in our community.
Liv began to sing at the age of seven and performed in a band with her dad by the age of thirteen. On top of singing, she also plays piano and guitar. Liv also releases her own music with these songs being creative and listeners can tell she put her all into writing these songs. While balancing both school and music, she kept her priorities straight while pursuing her life-long dreams.
“I can see her going very far in her career, because of her determination and dedication to getting better,” junior Avery Cattoor said.
Her journey on The Voice is very notable, because she originally auditioned in season twenty-eight, but failed to get a chair turn. After taking the coaches advice and working consistently, she came back the following season. During her audition, she earned two chair turns and she got to choose Kelly Clarkson to be her coach for the season. Throughout this whole process, Liv grew as an artist and produced her own music. Liv had lost in her Battle Round, but Kelly didn’t want to let go of her yet so she used her “Super Steal” to keep her in the competition, showing her confidence in Liv.
“She is such an amazing person, and an even better performer which makes me so interested in her journey and drive to success,” junior Abby Carney said.
Liv had many memorable performances during this entire season. One of the most famous ones though is when she performed “Flashdance… What a Feeling” by Irene Cara. Furthermore, this performance was so impressive to the coaches and the audience, and even Kelly became emotional during that performance. In the finale, she performed a cover of Billie Eilish’s song. This performance had Kelly in tears, because of the emotion Liv puts into her performances.
“Liv blew the crowd away by her amazing abilities and she left the crowd wanting more,” junior Avery Cattoor said.
Even though Liv didn’t win, she got attention from all around the world and gained a bigger fan base. This journey was a pivotal moment in her career, because of her not getting a chair turn to becoming runner-up is unbelievable. Many of these coaches and followers think her career is only just getting started, and her time on The Voice has really put her into the spotlight to go and do great things. She is an unbelievable performer and singer, which sets her out from most people her age.
Liv Ciara’s time on The Voice showcased her talent and determination as a young artist. She has grown from her rejection to becoming a finalist which shows resilience. Where she could have turned away, she came back and gave it another shot which takes dedication.
