Emotions were high and memories filled the field at St. Dominic High School as the girls soccer program celebrated Senior Night honoring two dedicated student-athletes, Evelyn Mueller and Sophia Catalano. Surrounded by teammates, coaches, friends, and family members, the seniors were recognized for their commitment to the Crusaders soccer program and the impact they have made both on and off the field.
The evening celebrated more than just soccer accomplishments. Senior Night gave the St. Dominic community an opportunity to reflect on the leadership, determination, and sportsmanship that Mueller and Catalano have shown throughout their high school careers. As they walked onto the field with their families beside them, the crowd applauded the countless hours, practices, and memories that helped shape their journey as Crusaders.
”I don’t know what we are going to do after these two leave. They are such a huge part of the team and I can’t imagine paying without them,” junior Ellis Grabow said.
Throughout their time at St. Dominic, both seniors helped build a strong sense of teamwork and school spirit within the program. Whether during intense matches, challenging practices, or team events, Mueller and Catalano earned the respect of teammates and coaches through their hard work and positive attitudes. Their dedication helped set an example for the younger players who will continue the tradition of Crusader soccer in the future.
”Evelyn and Sophia have both been such great role models to me on what it means to be a teammate. They completely took me under their wings the past two years and I am forever grateful to have played with them,” sophomore Madison Mcghee said.
The St. Dominic girls soccer program continues to be such an important part of the school athletic presence and community. As the season continues, the Crusaders will look to carry the energy of Senior Night forward while honoring the legacy left behind by the graduating seniors.
For Mueller and Catalano, Senior Night marked the closing of one chapter and the beginning of another. Although their time playing at St. Dominic is coming to an end, the memories they created and the impact they made on the program will not soon be forgotten.
In addition to their accomplishments on the field, both seniors have represented St. Dominic with character and school pride throughout their high school careers. Coaches and teammates described Mueller and Catalno as hardworking leaders who always encouraged those around them and brought energy to every practice and game. Their ability to balance academics, athletics, and involvement within the school community has made them role models for younger students and future members of the soccer program.
As the season moves forward, the St. Dominic community will continue to support the girls soccer team while celebrating the contributions of its graduating seniors. Senior Night served as a meaningful reminder of the friendships, lessons, and memories created through high school athletics. Although Evelyn Mueller and Sophia Catalano will soon graduate, their dedication and impact on the Crusader soccer program will remain an important part of St. Dominic’s tradition for years to come.
