With the most recent grandparents mass and rosary, St. Dominic as a school community was able to celebrate the people who helped shape all students and staff. Behind many St. Dominic students are the grandparents that have helped raise them. The support they give to the St. Dominic community is remarkable.

As a school, St. Dominic offers many opportunities for grandparents to visit and see their grandchildren. This is either through the monthly Grandparents Rosary and Mass or the annual Grandparents Day Celebration. Either way, here at St. Dominic, we pride ourselves on celebrating the importance of grandparents in our community.

This year the athletic program is even celebrating grandparents during one game at all levels of every sport because each of our stands are filled with loving grandparents who support their grandchildren.

It is critically important for all students to understand how exactly our grandparents shape us as individuals. Throughout our lives they will teach and influence so many valuable things such as faith, life lessons, and inspiration on how to live our best lives.

“Well the Grandparents Mass and Rosary is a big part of it because we look forward to coming here every month and having a little time every month to visit our grandchildren. I think that is special because they know that we are here for them, and that we support everything they do here at St. Dominic,” grandparent Bonnie Molitor said.

So not only do we all enjoy spending time with our grandparents at St. Dominic, they also love spending it with us. The support they give to us is very special and these gatherings are our way of giving back to them.

“I love coming out to St. Dominic on that fall Sunday for the grandparent celebration. It is a special time to spend with my grandchild. Nobody does Grandparents Day like St. Dominic,” grandmother Sue Humphrey said.

Celebrating our grandparents is something that unites families, and it is valuable for us as students to cherish this time with them. So make sure to spend some time with your grandparents because they have given more to us than we will ever know.
