Spring Break Travel

Students prepare to travel for a long spring break week

This year Spring Break falls around Easter, leaving many families with extra time to travel. Sports are off from Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday, that gives anyone in spring sports a chance to get a nice long break. Many students are preparing for festivities with friends and family.

Some are traveling to the beach this spring. Whether it is in the country or out of the country, many are excited to get in the warm tropical weather. The warm sanded beaches are crowded this time of year, but that is stopping no one. Warm water, shopping, great food, and much more. What isn’t there not to like?

“My friends and I are traveling to Seaside. I am so pumped to shop, tan, swim, and much more. I love the beach and there is no better place to be during spring break,” Senior Elise Kehoe said.

“I am going to Mexico for Spring Break, I can not wait to get in the tropical weather and be on the beach,” Senior Bella Connell said.

Not all are taking their travels to the beach. Some students are taking their time for college visits. College is right around the corner for seniors, and is closing in for juniors. Many colleges are hosting tours that week, it is a very smart time for students to visit without missing school days.

“I am traveling to tour the University of Arkansas over Spring Break. I am excited but I am very jealous of the people who are spending time on the nice beach,” Junior Alex Mueller said.

There are many things to make sure traveling is as easy as possible. If you are flying this break make sure to have your bags under 50lbs, so you do not have to pay extra. Along with only having three ounces of liquid in your carry ons. Above all, do not be the person that holds back your flight because you are late.

“I always fly Southwest. I make sure to be there on time. Flying is so much better than driving because it is quick and efficient,” Junior Lilly Taggart said.

Driving is always a great option. It is definitely cheaper than flying, and is a great opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends. The best tip is to make sure you have plenty of gas. Also, download shows and movies along with pack delicious snacks to make your time fly by.

Spring Break is right around the corner. Stay smart and take the right precautions to ensure a safe Spring Break. Whether you are traveling or staying home make sure to remember to attend Easter mass on the 31st.
