This past Friday we gathered in the Fallon Family Center for the house cup assembly, which marked the final assembly for the class of 2026 and concluded this school year’s house cup competition. At the end of the day, House Virtus walked away with the coveted house cup trophy.
Heading into the final assembly House Virtus commanded an 18 point lead on House Dignitas with Gratia trailing by 24 points, keeping them in the mix for the cup. The assembly had a variety of games and competitions. Games included the house chant off, hungry-hungry family captains, the house wide tennis ball game, and a 4 legged relay race.
Overall it was a loud assembly with all houses very excited to compete. Another good aspect of this assembly was the HOHs being the mc’s on the microphone once again. House Dignitas had an amazing assembly taking first in 3 out of the 4 competitions, winning the house chant, the relay race, and hungry hungry family captains. In the end House Dignitas’s effort wasn’t enough as House Virtus still came away with the win. Dignitas head of house Kylie Cyr was proud of house Dignitas and how they finished the year strong.
“I couldn’t be prouder of all the hard work and effort everyone in dignitas put in on friday. Although it wasn’t the outcome we wanted, everyone still came together and gave it their all and the energy was unmatched making it our best assembly yet,” senior Kylie Cyr said.
The quest for the cup was a very eventful one, as Dignitas and Virtus spent most of the year trading spots at the top of the leaderboard until Virtus eventually started to pull away towards the end. Virtus head of house, Delaney Wulkopf, says the win for Virtus really showed how far all the hard work got them.
“Winning the cup felt amazing. It just showed that all the hard work that Virtus put in throughout the year was worth it and we couldn’t do it without the help of every member of our house,” senior Delaney Wulkopf said.
In the end, it was a very successful year for the house system as a whole. As thousands of dollars were raised in support of the three philanthropy organizations. Engagement in family time and at assemblies was at an all time high this year, and we continued to grow as a community through the house system. Thank you to all the seniors for their involvement in the house system and we look forward to seeing what next year holds.
