On Friday May 8th, the Class of 2026 seniors of St. Dominic High School walked out of school in a big celebration in the hallways. With all grades taking a break from class to cheer for the seniors as they went through the hallways of St. Dominic one last time. This was an emotional time for everyone.
Benji Boss’ family has three graduates in the last three years so he is very familiar with the emotions that come along with this day. But even if someone doesn’t have siblings the day can still be emotional with close friends moving on to the next step in life.
“It was super emotional for me, I didn’t cry or anything but seeing all of the juniors I basically shared highschool with for three years clap as I walked by was very sad,” senior Benji Boss said.
Jack Thompson was very involved within the St. Dominic community, loved by many of his peers within the entire school. He, like many other students, took the walkout to heart, because the difficult challenge of college life is now upon them.
“Walking those halls for the last time was such a surreal feeling, I was laughing a lot of the time but mainly I was just trying to take it all in, knowing I’ll not be a student here anymore is just such an insane thought,” senior Jack Thompson said.
The Class of 2026 will always have a place in everyone’s heart, whether from memories or their lasting impacts on the community. With this class graduating the St. Dominic community has a void that needs to be filled. In perfect timing the class of 2030 is coming in the fall and everyone is so excited to welcome them and show them how amazing the community is.
