The start of fall marks many things at St. Dominic, with one of the most important being our annual Crusader Raffle. Beginning October 6th and going through October 26th, the goal this year is to raise $150,000. The Crusader Raffle provides funding for many things that make our school a great place, but it isn’t possible without everyone’s involvement. Here’s more information on what you can do.
”Our goal is to raise $150,000 this year, with a stretch goal of $155,000. We can hit that stretch goal if every student sells four tickets. Most people love a chance to win cash while supporting a good cause,” Mrs. Ballard said.
The Crusader Raffle will end at 11:59 on October 26th, meaning we have just a few weeks to reach our goal. Make sure to reach out to friends and family and encourage them to buy tickets for a good cause.
Last year, the raffle was a huge success, exceeding our stretch goal and providing valuable funding. And also like last year, there are plenty of prizes for reaching our goal. The grand prize this year is $10,000 with additional prizes for second and third place, $2,500 and $1,000 respectively. Reaching our goal also means two additional days off school, including the day before Thanksgiving and the Monday after.
”It’s a good opportunity because it provides the school with the chance to make big-time improvements. I also love getting the day off because of it. That’s always nice and is a good break for the holidays,”senior Landon Wright said.
That’s not all the Crusader Raffle helps with. Students are able to directly see where all of these funds go, with new additions like the trades building and weight room. There are so many things both seen and unseen that make the raffle essential, helping improve the academic, spiritual, athletic, and artistic parts of our school community.
“This past year, the revenue… specifically helped outfit the business classroom, along with the new Crusader Bus,” Mrs. Ballard said.
