CRU’s Renewal

CRU members prepare for another exciting year of giving back

St. Dominic has a tremendous amount of clubs to offer for everyone. One club in particular is Christ Renews Us, also known as CRU. CRU is an opportunity for girls to grow closer to God, while supporting each other through prayer and service.

In the past, CRU would just stick to monthly meetings, and big group activities, however this year they decided to change things up to help the girls take a deeper dive.

New this year for CRU is a small group Bible study. We are hoping to get some small groups together to open Scripture, and dive deep into some of the women of faith in the Old, and New Testaments,” Religion Teacher Mrs. Debbie Johnson said.

Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Swartstrom are very involved with CRU, wanting to be able to help young girls continue to build their faith. Giving each and one of them the chance to take a step and lead their peers is a great way for others to want to open up in their faith.

My favorite part of being in the leadership team is getting to help create new, and fun ways to make CRU a more exciting club to be a part of. I also think it is so amazing to see people grow in their faith, through activities and more planned by CRU,” Junior Kendall Kimes said.

Each one of these students get the chance to connect with one another on a different level, through something so amazing: God. CRU is about being able to send the love of St. Dominic and God to people that don’t get to receive it.

“My favorite part of CRU is watching our leadership team work together to bring our monthly meetings together. I love watching our group put together the Boxes of Joy! This year we want to make sure that a personal message is placed inside each box for the recipient. We plan to bless the boxes before they are dropped off,” Mrs. Johnson said.

With the love and support of these girls, and two amazing teachers, to be able to send just something to people, is so impressive and encouraging to help those in need.

I joined CRU because I wanted to have a better connection with God and strengthen my faith,” Junior Isabella Kramer said.

The dedication of each one of these girls to strengthen their faith together is so powerful. If you are looking for a club of amazing young ladies growing their faith together and wanting to branch out you should go and check out CRU.
