Wiping Out the Competition: 2019 Toilet Paper Drive

St. Dominic wiped away the competition in this year’s Toilet Paper Drive, crushing last year’s records.

This year, St. Dominic joined with rival St. Francis Borgia to host a friendly competition for Catholic Schools Week. Throughout the week, students and faculty from both schools were asked to bring in toilet paper to donate to the Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Service and our local St. Vincent de Paul.

Last year, St. Dominic alone collected over 3,000 rolls of toilet paper to donate. However, Mrs. Johnson, the director of the toilet paper drive, had higher expectations this year.

“If we could collect 4,000+ rolls, that would be awesome! I hope we can beat Borgia, but the real winner will be the area food pantries and their clients,” Johnson said.

We did just that. St. Dominic collected a grand total of 4,312 rolls, surpassing our goal by a long shot. While this may be a win for the Crusaders, the real winner, as Johnson said, is those who will be affected by our donations.

Great job, Crusaders!
