With the extra stress and work piling up in students’ lives around this time of the year, many try to find something to help them relax their minds. The perfect solution for this problem is participating in any of the upcoming retreats hosted by a number of youth groups around the area!

For those who need a weekend away with God, or students missing their time at Kairos, a fall or winter retreat is the perfect way to have a fun getaway and grow closer to the Lord and your peers.

St. Joseph Cottleville, St. Cletus, Assumption, All Saints, St. Charles Borromeo and ICD are all hosting upcoming retreats. Some parishes are hosting a weekend long retreat, while others are keeping it to one day. The parishes with faith filled weekend retreats are St. Cletus, ICD, Assumption and St. Joe. The other parishes have a fun day of activities planned, rather than a full weekend due to COVID-19 precautions.

If you aren’t sure which retreat you would prefer, think about St. Joe’s upcoming winter retreat! The weekend is completely free, due to the fact that it will be hosted on site rather than traveling to a secondary location. Many students are excited to be able to share their faith in a new way.

“This retreat is definitely going to be different than other years, but knowing the people in the youth group it’s still going to be tons of fun!” junior Emma Hall said.

If you don’t want to go a full weekend for a retreat, then St. Charles Borromeo has an awesome day retreat planned out for the teens. With dinner, fun games and involving talks from members of the parish, it’s sure to be an amazing time!

“I love being able to hear people talk about their experience in our faith at these retreats, and they always help me feel closer to God,” junior Elise Cope said.

Even if these retreats aren’t exactly what you’re looking for, try seeing what your own parish has to offer.
