The girls swim team opened up their season with a victory over rival Duchesne Wednesday, November 28, winning nine out of eleven events. The debut win opened up Coach Imming’s legacy as a Crusader coach.

Girls swimming and diving cruised past the Pioneers last week, even with no seniors on the roster. The lack of upperclassmen leadership has been expertly combated by new coach Rachael Imming.

“It’s rewarding to get Coach her first win here at Dominic. She’s been great for us in practice and it was nice to see it translate over to the meet,” said sophomore Elli Hagan.

An opening night win is what every coach dreams of, but the victory was extra sweet as it came over St. Dominic’s bitter rivals.

“I’m glad to have started off this rivalry on the right foot, and hopefully we’ll be able to keep this success going next time we face them. I’m so excited for the rest of the season and to see what these girls can do,” said Coach Imming.

The girls look to keep their winning ways up as they face Ursuline Academy on December 3 at Principia High School.
