Scotties Future Looks Green After 2024 Masters Victory

NBC News
Scottie Scheffler comes home with a huge 2024 Masters win

The Masters is a tradition like no other. This past weekend at the 2024 Masters, Scottie Scheffler brought home the green jacket for the second time in three years. With the pristine Augusta National course in Georgia, the best players gather to compete which makes for an entertaining tournament for many to watch.

Scottie Scheffler takes home the green jacket once again with scoring 11 under par. With a historical win, he and his caddie Ted Scott have much to celebrate. Scottie and his caddie are shown to have a close bond after the last hole, in which Scheffler let Ted walk in front of him on his stroll of victory. Shooting a 69, 67 and two 71’s, Scottie’s consistency was visible as well as his dedication to the game.

“We are witnessing a display of greatness we haven’t seen in some time from anyone, and we should cherish the gift. Scheffler is the type of player who has that rare gravitational pull,” according to theathletic.com by Gabby Herzig.

Not only was this a special moment for Scheffler’s golf career, he is also welcoming his first kid into the world. He made it known that if his wife goes into labor, he was planning on withdrawing from the tournament and going home to his wife and newborn baby. Scottie is looking forward to celebrating this victory and the life of his baby shortly joining the world.

Coming in second was 24 year old Swedish golfer Ludvig Aberg. He shot three under on day four, but it was not enough to catch Scottie. This was his first major tournament and he came home in second, which is an outstanding start. Ludvig has a bright future and did not let the unfamiliar Master’s course intimidate him.

“Rory Mcllroy has insisted for quite some time that Ludvig Aberg is poised to become a huge star in gold. The world found out why on Sunday,” according to apnews.com by Steve Reed.

This year’s Master winner was truly spectacular and shows that golf is more than just a game. With Scottie’s first child coming soon there was a meaning behind his victory. The Masters is such an exciting time for sports fans from all over the world, and with this year’s competition, the upcoming years of talented players will increase the golf game overall.
