On Saturday May 16th the St Dominic High School girls soccer team are heading into districts with confidence, determination, and momentum after another competitive season. Throughout the year, the Crusaders have demonstrated resilience on the field while continuing to represent their school with pride, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
As postseason play begins, excitement around the program continues to grow across the halls of St. Dominic. Students, teachers, and families are rallying behind the team as they prepare for the intensity and pressure that comes with postseason competition. After months of practices, games, and hard work, the players now have the opportunity to compete for a district championship and extend their season even further.
“I’m so excited to see what our team can do as we head into districts. I think we have a great shot to go far this year and I hope we make the most of it,” Sophomore Madison Mcghee said.
The Crusaders have relied on strong leadership from their upperclassmen while younger players have stepped into important roles throughout the season. Team chemistry has become one of the group’s biggest strengths, helping the players battle through difficult matches and close games. Whether through strong defensive performances, clutch goals, or consistent effort, the team has continued to improve each time they step onto the field.
“I love the chemistry and banter our team has had this season. There is truly nothing that compares to the relationships you can make in high school sports,” Junior Jori Bristow said.
Coaches have emphasized discipline, communication, and trust all season long, and those qualities will be critical as the stakes get higher in districts. The players understand that every possession, every save, and every opportunity matters during postseason soccer. Still, the team remains focused not only on winning, but also on enjoying the experience of competing together.
For the two seniors, this district run represents one final opportunity to wear the St. Dominic jersey and leave their mark on the program. Their leadership and dedication have helped shape the culture of the team while inspiring younger athletes to continue building the success of Crusader soccer in the future.
The St. Dominic community has continued to show support for the girls soccer team throughout the season. Students, faculty, and families have filled the stands and created an exciting atmosphere as the Crusaders head into district competition.
This district run is also a reward for the team’s hard work and dedication. From winter training to late-night practices, the players have stayed committed to improving and competing together all season long.
As the district tournament begins, the St. Dominic community stands behind the girls soccer team with excitement and support. No matter the outcome, the Crusaders have already shown what can be accomplished through hard work, perseverance, commitment, and having fun with one another.
