The field was filled with excitement for the Girls Varsity Senior Night on April 20th, in honor of celebrating the team’s seniors. Senior night was celebrated right before their 4:00 pm game against Nerinx Hall. This ceremony was to pay tribute to the athletes for the dedication, leadership, and hardship throughout the years. Many friends, family, and classmates attended to show their love and support for the players. With that momentum, they’ve continued to build as the seasons have gone on. Now they have an outstanding 6-1 record, the team continues to show skill, determination, and strong teamwork. Their victory last night, made the night for the seniors even more special.
“It feels surreal that it’s my senior night. I’m so excited and grateful for all my family and friends,” senior Gwenny Roberts said.
During their game, Gwenny Roberts reached a record of 100 goals! This is a huge accomplishment, making the team and coaches very proud. This achievement marks a significant moment not only for her, but also for the entire team. Reaching 100 goals shows her dedication, consistency, and hard work has paid off.
“It was a great night! And I had a blast,” senior Bree Moore said.
The energy from senior night continued to carry over until after the game, leaving everyone to celebrate with friends and family. It was more than just a game, it was a celebration for the ladies for their years of commitment, growth, and impact they’ve made on the team. Each senior has played a huge role in shaping and making this team. Their leadership has been a great example for the underclassmen to look up to.
As the season continues, the team looks forward with confidence, determined to carry on the season strong. Senior night was the marking to the beginning of the end for these athletes and highlighted their hard work. No matter how the season ends, this night of celebration will remain a moment for players and all who’ve supported them.
