On Saturday, March 7th, St. Dominic held their 88th annual Evening of the Crusader Gala. This Gala is a special tradition in which parents gather together in support of St. Dominic High School. The night consists of donations, silent auctions, and raffles, making it a wonderful experience.
The night serves as a fundraising event, with all profits going towards the betterment of St. Dominic students. Academic, athletic, and artistic opportunities are granted as a result of the generosity of all the parents and companies in the community who donated.
“The Gala was absolutely beautiful. I am happy to donate to such a good cause,” St. Dominic Parent, Angie Howe said.
As per St. Dominic tradition, the evening was started by celebrating the Lord through mass. It was followed by a cocktail hour and a delicious dinner service in the Fallon Family Center. The fun continued to flourish when it became time for the live and silent auction.
Tons of valuable items were donated to the silent auction, with the fan favorite being Joey. Joey is a Medium Parti-Colored Australian Labradoodle who was donated by Patrick and Monica Cherniawski. The newest crusader found his new home on Saturday, being sold for $7,000. His new owners gained a wonderful addition to their family.
“I am very sad because I got outbid on the dog twice,” Assistant Principal Mrs. Schuler said.
Besides Joey, many parents brought home other amazing prizes. Trips were very popular, including a Vegas Vacation, Pinehurst Golf Trip, Destin beach house stay, and more. St. Dominic also donated items, including the Golden Crusader parking spot, extra graduation tickets, dress down week, and Crusader blue seats.
This beautiful evening couldn’t have been possible without the Gala Committee, the parents, and the sponsors of St. Dominic. The Gala committee is in charge of planning the night to make it one of the best, and that they did. The sponsors also made a huge impact by providing the auction with an assortment of prizes and generous donations.
The evening of the Crusader Gala is an important event that is both fun and impactful. All of the money raised will be dedicated to providing the students at St. Dominic a wonderful opportunity for education and experience.
