When Monday is right around the corner and snow is falling, teenagers at St. Dominic Highschool are praying for school to be called off for the morning. As they are going about their nights getting ready for school. The awaited email comes through from Mr. Welby calling for an E-learning day. All the students turn off their alarms and go to sleep knowing tomorrow is going to be a calm day with no worry of going to school in the morning.
I talked to many students and each one had very similar yet different ideas of how they spent their E-Learning days. Anywhere from being productive and using it as a day to get caught up on work, to staying in bed all day and resting for the week.
“I spent my snow days at home spending time with family, watching our favorite movies, playing our favorite games, eating, drinking hot chocolate and playing in the snow,” freshman Sophia Congulton said.
This is an overall great day with calming vibes and lots of quality time with family. And also going outside and enjoying the snow.
“I love just sleeping in and not having anything to worry about. I will look that morning and get any work that I need to get done, done. Then I will either go back to sleep or get out of bed and move to the couch to watch my favorite TV show Chicago PD,” sophomore Annie Chik said.
This is another great example of a great way to spend your day. This is definitely a more relaxed day with the idea of catching up on energy for the rest of the week. Annie definitely had the right idea of comfy for the E-learning day.
“I knocked out all my assignments early so I was free later. Then I played the game. After that I did a light at home workout. Did my laundry then helped my mom get some dinner ready,” junior Chaz Hurston said.
Although he was still getting a lot done he was still taking advantage of the calm snow day vibe. He was able to enjoy his day off and still feel productive while doing so.
“I normally just sleep in as long as I can, then I get up and normally my mom has some breakfast for me. I then sit on the couch and watch some tv and do some homework. Then I’ll probably take a nap, eat dinner, watch tv, then go to sleep,” senior Loralei Labath said.
All in all the students of Saint Dominic have great ideas of how they want to spend their E-Learning days while being productive and also having a nice day to relax. Overall a great day for the St. Dominic community. To be safe at home during the snow.
