St. Dominic has completed another exciting football season. Although many of the players were upset with the result in the district semi finals, it was a 9-0 regular season with great performances from seniors in their final seasons.
St. Dominic was led this year by their senior quarterback Brennan Czeschin, he completed 62.84% of his passes for 2273 yards and 28 touchdowns with 4 interceptions. This was Czeschin’s 3rd year leading varsity offense, and was his best season in his high school career.
However, a big part of the success of the quarterback is who he is throwing to. This season, St. Dominic had an assortment of successful receivers. Junior Coleman Murchison led the team in receiving yards hauling in 32 catches for 761 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was backed by Austin Ryan, another junior, was not far behind with 42 receptions totaling 692 yards and 9 touchdowns.
St. Dominic was also able to run the ball effectively, Junior Dom Palo and Senior Hayden Bollinger were able to control the time of possession, putting less pressure on the pass game for their quarterbacks and receivers. Dom Palo had 86 attempts for 578 yards on the ground, while Hayden Bolinger had 75 attempts for 583 yards.
The defense for St. Dominic was a very big contributor to the success of the team this season. St. Dominic was led in tackles by junior Jaxson Nixon who had 57 solo and 44 assists totaling 101 tackles on the season. And the defensive line was led by junior Tyson Greiner who totaled 76 tackles with 4 sacks on the season.
“It was a lot of fun playing this season, I just enjoy playing football and with the long season it gives me time to be with my friends on my team” Junior Jay Phillips said.
Overall, with an undefeated regular season there is nothing for these players to be ashamed of. With many juniors being key players on this team, and with a long offseason to improve, there is reason for excitement for the 2026-2027 St. Dominic football season.
