The annual Girls Volleyball Senior Night was held this past Monday at 6pm in the Gymnasium. Many families and facility members gathered, presenting pictures and slideshows of the seniors in the gym before the game against Cor Jesu to celebrate their seniors.
The graduating seniors this year include Addy Burroughs, Natalie Frazier, and Emma Keele. Each of the seniors have played for the volleyball program all four years. While playing for the program, each of these players have grown and developed their skill level for the game.
For the players, managers, coaches, and families, this senior night was an emotional time. Many families and friends had gathered for the evening to celebrate and for the game against Cor Jesu. The players had enjoyed being a part of a team, along with the support from the other players and families.
“My favorite part of senior night was seeing the posters the underclassman made for us and all of the nice things they wrote on our banners. It made me feel so loved by everyone which made the night so special,” senior Emma Keele said.
This senior night was a special night for these three girls. Each of them have been playing together all four years of high school and it was very special to them that they were able to spend this night together to celebrate and play.
“Having senior night was such a fun night but didn’t feel real. Over the years senior night just seemed like another game but now it was my actual senior night. It hasn’t really set in that we had senior night and that night was for my friends and I. But over the whole season I have always looked forward to senior night but it just didn’t feel real that I was the senior they were celebrating,” senior Addy Burroughs said.
This event was a surreal experience for the girls. They had attended other senior nights from previous years, but since it was their turn, it hasn’t fully set in yet that they are the seniors this year. With the season slowly ending, senior night had many players and families in tears. The players can’t wait to see what the future holds for the graduating seniors.
