As October begins, so do the MLB playoffs. Another year of baseball comes to an end. As for this year’s teams, we see some new faces in the playoffs and some familiar faces in the playoffs.
The teams that are representing the MLB playoffs this year are the Detroit Tigers, Cleveland Guardians, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners, and Toronto Blue Jays. These are the teams representing the American League. And the teams representing the National League include the Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, Cincinnati Reds, and Milwaukee Brewers.
There’s been a lot happening in the MLB playoffs as the wildcard round was played, and not only that, we also know which teams advanced to the NLDS and ALDS.
In the wildcard round, The Detroit Tigers beat the Cleveland Guardians 2-1 and will advance to play the Seattle Mariners, The Chicago Cubs beat the San Diego Padres 2-1 and will proceed to play the Milwaukee Brewers. The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Cincinnati Reds 2-0 and will proceed to play the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Yankees beat the Boston Red Sox 2-1 and will play the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALDS.
But that’s not all that has happened in the MLB playoffs this year, we also know what the series is for a couple teams in the AL and NLDS. In the NLDS, we have the Los Angeles Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies. As of now, the Dodgers are up 2-0 against the Phillies in a best of five series.

Beating them 4-3 and 5-3 in Philadelphia, with game three tonight in Los Angeles as the Phillies are looking to get in the series with these two games. The other NLDS series are the Chicago Cubs against the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers are up 2-0 against the Cubs beating them 9-3 and 7-3 in Milwaukee. Game three is also today in Chicago as the Cubs are looking to get back in the series with two games in Chicago.
In the ALDS, its the Seattle Mariners and the Detroit Tigers. As of now, the Mariners are up 2-1 against the Tigers. Both games started off in Seattle. They lost the first game in extra innings with the score 2-3 at home, but they bounced back as they won the second game, 3-2. Additionally in Detroit, they won 8-4 making them gain a higher rank in the series. Game 4 is today in Detroit as the Tigers are looking to tie the series at 2 apiece. The other ALDS series going on are the Toronto Blue Jays and the New York Yankees. As of now, the Blue Jays are up 2-1 on the Yankees as they won both their home games in a blowout, with scores of 10-1 and 13-7, and in game three they lost a close game in New York with the score being 6-9 in the favor of the Yankees. Game 4 is tonight in New York as the Yankees, just like the Tigers, are looking to split the series at 2 apiece.
So that concludes what has occurred so far in the wildcard round and in the ALDS and NLDS so far. Again a lot has happened so far but it’s been an entertaining playoffs so far and we will decide which one these teams remaining will survive and make it to the NLCS, ALCS, and the infamous World Series!
