Last Thursday night, St. Dominic hosted a NAHS night to showcase all the talented students. During this night the visual and practical art students got to show off their talents.
To show off students’ art, there were many different pieces on display for everyone to see. To make it more interesting the guests were able to vote on pieces of art in four different categories. The categories were best in show, best painting, best drawing, and best media piece.
“When the night ended the students who won each category were Elemental Essence by Mia Williams, Prairie Without a Little House by Erica Juergensmeyer, Stone Cold by Ayla Richie, and Something in the Music by Aeliyahna Polley,”Art teacher Ms. Linville said.
During the night not only were the fine art students able to receive a dedication to their hard work, but it was also a house attendance event. The night was filled with students, faculty, and outside guests. In the front you were greeted by an art gallery, in which you would vote on your favorite piece to earn your attendance point.
“This was a great opportunity to bring all the students from all different houses, to see the great talents that not only their fellow classmates, but even fellow house members hold,” Mr. Tock said.
Besides just art, the theatre department performed all sorts of improv games. This was a fun and interactive way for students to showcase their acting abilities, to all the guests.
“I loved seeing all my students perform and use their talents that many students have here at SDHS and their talents are truly incredible,” Theater teacher Mrs. Hobbs said.
The final thing that the NAHS night had to offer was a contribution to the music program. Many students got to go up and sing in front of the many guests. Some even performed solos to end the night out with an bang.
St. Dominic’s NAHS night was a way for students to perform and show all their hard work that they put in all year.
