Have you ever wished to drink something so caffeinated that you will be awake for the next few years? Well, Costco has you covered with their latest product — Lee’s Cafe Latte, also known as Ca Phe Sua Da. Not only is it a delicious start to the day, but it is far more potent than most expect. One Reddit user described the coffee as “the bomb dot com.” Another user recalled their experience with the coffee.
“I drank a full bottle without diluting it once and I had a headache, my heart was rushing, and I felt ill the entire day. Couldn’t make myself fall asleep. . . I think I only slept three hours,” User u/crapoo16 said in a post in r/Costco.
Another user recommended that anyone who wants to drink the coffee should dilute it before drinking it, since it is a coffee concentrate. Many people didn’t realize that it was meant to be diluted before drinking.
“Make sure you dilute it or you won’t fall asleep until Passover 2027,” User u/johndeaux588 said in a post in the same subreddit.
According to Robert Nguyen, one cup (8oz) of Vietnamese coffee contains 265 mg of caffeine alone. That’s more than a shot of espresso! Not to mention the high sugar content of 38g, which is rather high for a cup of coffee. In comparison to a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks, this is rather low.
Although many shoppers have praised the coffee for its rich flavor, that cannot be recreated through homemade coffee. Many have claimed that making Vietnamese coffee doesn’t taste the same as Lee’s Cafe Latte.
There are many ways one can go about drinking this coffee, other than just drinking it straight. The instructions on the bottles themselves recommend that you pour a milk of your choice in with the coffee, though many people have created recipes with this delicious drink. Some have put this potent coffee in with shaved ice, or just ice cubes. Others recommend that you serve it chilled like a mocha, with chocolate syrup drizzled on top, or like a warm latte or even a cappuccino. The Vietnamese coffee concentrate is very diverse in this manner.
If you are not one to drink coffee itself, you can use Vietnamese coffee in various recipes. From cakes to donuts, Vietnamese coffee can be used in almost any coffee cake recipe out there!
Sadly, this well-loved coffee isn’t available in all Costcos. However, Costco is always open to improvement. So perhaps customers who are interested in trying this unique coffee should submit a request.
