Proactive President

..> Senior Will Nicholson is the new face of the student body. From being our president, a family captain and varsity soccer captain, Nicholson is always finding new ways to help out the school.

“I believe you can’t help others have fun and be happy if you aren’t happy and having fun yourself,” Nicholson said, “the student council is coming up with new ideas to bring spirit back into our community in the safest way possible.”

Student council has been doing a lot for the community lately with all the new changes going on in the school. New ideas for homecoming, pep rallies, and of course our new schedules.

“I serve as a mediator between the students and the administration. Everyone has been very open and have been making compromises to make sure everyone is happy,” Nicholson said.

Nicholson is a family captain for house Caritas as well, and he has made many new close relationships within the house.

“I have been working with seniors Kennedy Mueller and Cole Pardo, the HOH’s, to help bring a more energetic environment to Caritas County and my own family. We have been coming up with kinds of games to get to know each other and grow closer together,” Nicholson said.

Getting to know the people around you, as well as being able to work with new members of the community, is very important, and Nicholson is very good at making connections. Not only is he a leader during school hours, but out on the soccer field as well. He is a varsity soccer team captain, and also the starting goalie for the team.

“The soccer team believes that every member of the team should have a good attitude and mentality of always wanting to not better just themselves, but the team,” Nicholson said,  “as soon as I step onto the field, I switch into work mode and dial in to give it my all, even if it is just a practice.”

Sometimes giving it your all can wear you out, but Nicholson makes it look as easy. It takes a lot of discipline and sacrifice to give so much into a community.

“I have learned to manage my time, and I still have to sacrifice some of my free time, but I am someone who likes a challenge. It definitely gets hard at times, but I love this school and I am more than 100% willing to take on these hard times. I know when things are too hard I don’t need to worry, because I have the greatest support system that drives me to do what I do for them,” Nicholson said.

Nicholson continues to help our school community thrive, even in the times where it seems impossible. By working hard and continuing to give it his all, Nicholson is going to continue to do great things!
