NHS Induction: 2018
St. Dominic’s National Honor Society welcomed 39 new members— 15 seniors and 24 juniors—on Thursday night, and they could not be more excited.
National Honor Society (NHS) is a nationwide organization for high school students. Selection for NHS is based on four pillars: scholarship, leadership, service and character. Mrs. Goins, the NHS advisor at St. Dominic, is one of the members involved in the selection process.
“I am excited to see 39 new members of NHS serving as leaders in our school community by helping others. I am blessed to work with students who willingly serve as leaders in our community and put forth great effort into all of our projects,” said Goins. 
At the ceremony, the new inductees had the honor of hearing a beautiful speech by guest speaker Mr. Andrew Orf. Mr. Orf was a class of 2014 graduate from St. Dominic.
During the speech, Mr. Orf spoke to the new inductees about how the four pillars of NHS still play a role in his life and he encouraged the new members to take seriously the role of being a member of this prestigious group of students.
