The Rise of YouTube Creators

The+Rise+of+YouTube+Creators

With YouTube quickly becoming an accessible platform to fame, many aspiring comedians have used their talents to build a career on the Internet. Here are a few of my favorite creators:

Miranda Sings/Colleen Ballinger
Miranda Sings may come off as a selfish and untalented individual, but she is so much more than that. Miranda’s obliviousness to her obvious lack of talent is what viewers find most intriguing about the character. While her confidence can come off as selfish and rude, her ability to ignore the “haters” is inspirational to her young audience.

Awful singing and overconfidence may be Miranda’s forte, but the opposite can be said for her real counterpart Colleen Ballinger. Ballinger is a classically trained vocalist who created the character of Miranda as a way to poke fun at her cocky classmates.

Now, Ballinger has millions of fans across all three of her channels, tours all over the world as Miranda and even snagged two seasons of her very own Netflix Original Series, Haters Back Off.

Christine Sydelko
Christine Sydelko’s new solo channel has rocketed her fame after splitting with her friend and co-creator Elijah Daniel. Since the split, Sydelko has uploaded various vlogs, gaming videos and collaborations with other YouTubers. Sydelko’s relatable and dry sense of humor is what attracts her 1.3 million subscribers.

Sydelko has hit it big in 2018. At the start of the new year, Sydelko vowed to be more adventurous and learn how to become a “real” YouTuber, which she has definitely achieved.

Liza Koshy
This quirky yet bold creator has definitely made her mark on the YouTube community. Despite being a former Vine Star, Koshy has managed to extend her punny humor and awkward dancing to a much larger audience on YouTube.

From Driving with Liza, Yoga with Liza to Bathroom with Liza, Koshy has undoubtedly set no boundaries when it comes to her channel.

Lucas the Spider
While Lucas the Spider might not be considered a typical Youtuber, his videos consistently accumulate over a million views. His animator has successfully managed to cure many viewers’ arachnophobia with his cute and friendly depiction of an everyday spider named Lucas.

Voiced by the animator’s nephew, Lucas finds himself in some sticky situations throughout his videos and often interacts with the viewer. The animator’s goal for his YouTube channel is to rid spiders of their bad reputation.

From untalented singers to animated spiders, YouTube has become a place for endless creative expression. Make sure to like and subscribe to all of these YouTubers to support their impressive self-made careers.
