With the start of the new year comes the excitement of many hit shows coming out with new seasons. Arguably one of the most anticipated is season four of Bridgerton, coming out January 29. Bridgerton is a regency romance television series following the renowned Bridgerton family, the most popular of all the town. With each new season the show follows another one of the eight Bridgerton siblings. This being season four the show will follow Benedict Bridgerton; the third eldest and a well known bachelor.

His story is known as one comparable to Cinderella as it is discovered in the trailer that he will discover his love interest at his mother’s masquerade ball. With everyone wearing masks the woman who Benedict falls for will be a mystery

With Benedict being the main storyline for the season there will also be many side characters. One of the most interesting storylines to expect this season is Francesca Bridgerton. As her season is yet to come it will be exciting to see how the showrunners convey her story with her husband without giving too much away.

It will also be exciting to see the new born child of Penelope and Colin as they were the main couple of last season. Last season was a difficult plot line to follow since there were so many story lines going on. It felt as if the spotlight was shifted away from the main couple and the plot focused on the whole ton.

“I am really excited to see the development of Penelope and Colin since their season was kind of a let down,” junior Maria Nettler said.

With season three being the worst rated of the franchise, Bridgerton is looking for a comeback with the season. Hopefully they will stick to the plot of the original book since season three felt dominated by side storylines.

With the huge fan base surrounding the original books and now the Netflix show there are many different perspectives to please but I have faith that season four will be amazing. Hopefully it will live up to expectations and bring the legacy of the books to the big screen.
