Now that the weather’s chilly and leaves are changing color, fall gear is everywhere at school. Shorts and tees are a thing of the past, with everyone dressed warmly and fashionably.
Ginormous sweaters seem to be the biggest fad of the season. They’re comfortable to wear, easy, and complement almost anything. Many people have even started to layer these pieces with a small tank top or shirt to tuck the sweater into at an angle this has been all the rave with many high school students.
“I like to wear large sweaters because they’re really comfortable and still look all right,” junior Bryn Sprengnether said.
Boots are beginning to appear as well. Ankle boots and combat boots are becoming more popularĀ but the sneakers are still in style because they’re really versatile and easy to pair with anything. Some students are even adding striped socks for a splash of personality.
Matching sets are also super trendy. They come in a variety of colors, and you can wear them as-is or layer a jacket on top. For example, more and more popular brands have been releasing trending workout or loungewear sets based on the season. There have been many summer and spring releases but as the fall season is upon us we are excited to see all the new patterns and sets that will soon come.
“Matching sets just give me such a fall feel,” senior Kate McDonald said.
Accessories also play a big role in clothing nowadays. Beanies, scarves, and crossbody bags are all getting larger, while students wear jewelry such as small necklaces or earrings to complete the ensemble. Sports wear, accessories, hoodies, letterman jackets, and school bling are all being worn with jeans and sneakers. It’s an easy way to stay warm but also show style.
In general, the coziness of autumn style is exciting for all of us as we are excited to see the new styles that will come with this wonderful season. From sweaters, to boots, to plaid, the corridors definitely look autumn-ready. Fall colors seem to show up more and more throughout the hallways, with browns, greens, and tans being the most popular. Plaid flannels and scarves are also making a return appearance, which would be perfect for the fall style.
