The past and upcoming concerts in St. Louis this year

In high school, some of the best memories are made at concerts. There have been some amazing artists that have come to St. Louis, and many more to come as well. Many artists come to the Enterprise Center or the Hollywood Ampitheatre and draw in many fans.

One songwriter that was a huge hit this year was Drake. Drake has been making music since 2006, and has come out with many popular hits including God’s Plan, One Dance, or Hotline Bling. He has been a huge sensation among teenagers and among students of St. Dominic High School.

“The Drake concert was the best concert I have been to. It was such a good experience and the atmosphere was so fun. Drake is one of my favorite artists so being able to see him live was a dream come true,” Senior Elise Kehoe said.

Another extremely popular artist, who just came to St. Louis, was none other than Olivia Rodrigo. Olivia earned much fame with her album Sour. But, it was not until 2023 that Olivia released a new album that she named GUTS. This album contains popular songs like vampire, bad idea right, get him back!, and making the bed. Olivia Rodrigo had many people dying to get a ticket when she released her tour dates, and St. Louis was one of them. Thankfully, a certain junior was lucky enough to get one.

“I still cannot believe it was real. I loved the opener and Olivia was so kind and it was an unreal performance that I would do again a million times,” Junior Lulu Hawkins said.

There are still many more artists to come to St. Louis this year. Two singers and many students at St. Dominic is excited to go see Noah Kahan and Hozier. Noah Kahan has earned much attention for his new album Stick Season, and will be coming in June. One of Hozier’s notably famous songs is Take Me to Church, and he will be coming to the St. Louis Ampitheatre in August.

“I’m super excited to go to Hozier and Noah Kahan in the summer. I love outdoor summer concerts and Noah Kahan and Hozier are two of my favorite singers and I’m so glad they’re coming into town so close to each other,” Junior Maddie Hunsel said.

Two more highly anticipated artists that are performing at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre are 21 Savage and Niall Horan. 21 Savage has many fans among the St. Dominic student body. Some of his more famous songs are Bank Account, No Heart, and X. 21 Savage will be coming in May. Niall Horan released an album last year called The Show, which he will perform in July.

“I am so excited to see Niall Horan. I’ve always been a huge One Direction fan and I absolutely love all his solo music, and I cannot wait to see the show with my best friend Will Dery,” Junior Jill Johnson said.

For students more into country music, Zach Bryan will be coming to the Enterprise Center with special guests Levi Tuner and The Middle East. Nonetheless, these concerts are a great way to have fun and spend time with friends singing and dancing to extremely talented artists.
