A New Eras of Shows

A post by Taylor confirmed all the rumors that had been circulating. She announced she would be coming back to the United States in fall 2024, for a second leg of the The Eras Tour. Fans were so pumped for this second chance to get tickets, and see her live on tour in the United States.

To get these tickets for the second leg wasn’t going to be easy though. There were nine shows announced in three different cities; Miami, New Orleans, and Indianapolis. With only nine more shows in the US, there are not nearly enough seats for everyone who would love to see the singer live.

“An estimated 14 million people will be vying for roughly 625,000 tickets,” WSAZ Channel 3 said.

Some strategies people had were making multiple Ticketmaster accounts on family, and friends devices to better the chances of getting a code. This only paid off for a few people. Others signed up with more than ten emails, and still didn’t get a code.

“I registered for a presale code, my friend registered on two of her emails, and my friend’s mom registered. Only one of my friend’s emails got a code,” Senior Lisa Eigel said.

Ticketmaster only sent out enough codes for the amount of seats they are trying to sell. They did this because the last time they did verified fan codes in November 2022, Ticketmaster sent too many out codes, crashing their websites for days. They had to cancel their Capital One presale, and general admission sale, leaving a lot of fans upset with the high resell prices.

“When I found out I got put on the waitlist I never felt less important than when I read that email. I knew I probably wouldn’t get taken off the waitlist to get tickets,” senior Lisa Eigel said.

Although, there is good that is coming out of the second leg of the Eras Tour. Fans who were not given that opportunity to get tickets the first time around, got a shot to get tickets for retail price.

“When I got tickets I felt so grateful and lucky. I remember crying happy tears because it meant so much to me,” Sophomore Kaiya Grillo said.

Not to mention, the people who did get presale codes this time around were very excited. This is because the amount of people who would be fighting for these tickets would be much lower than the first time around.

When I got the code, I felt really hopeful. In my mind I was thinking, omg barely anyone got these, so I must be special,” Grillo said.

There are also rumors going around with how short this list of shows are, she might add more stops as time goes on. For now, the tickets have been sold and we will just have to wait and see.
