St. Dominic aims for a successful postseason with great results

As we are in the second half of the spring season, all of our St. Dominic teams are fighting and grinding their way through to the end of the year. Playoffs are fast approaching, and things are looking good for many St. Dominic sports. Here we are going to detail how each of our teams are doing, and what the next few weeks could look like.

Baseball: Our Crusaders have an impressive record as they head into their district as the third seed. They will face off against Hannibal to open their playoff run. With a record of 13-9-1 the boys will look to their veterans to help them through a tricky district.

Boys Tennis: The boys season came to an unfortunate end when they lost in districts, but the memories they made with each other will be the biggest takeaway of the year. The season was challenging for this team, but they persevered through it all and will look to come back stronger next year.

Girls Lacrosse: The girls won a nail biter in their senior night game against Ladue winning 10-9. They will open playoffs against Oakville tomorrow night at home for the chance to move on to the second round. Girls lacrosse in the state of Missouri has been closely contested all year, so our Crusaders have the opportunity to make some noise.

Boys Golf: Today, Colin Aubuchon tees off at state in Sedalia. Two days of fierce competition will determine where Missouri’s best golfers end up. Good luck Colin! All of St. Dominic is cheering you on and we wish you the best of luck!

Girls Soccer: It has been nothing but positives as of late for this team. The girls have rebounded strongly as they are in the midst of districts. A win in challenging weather over Fort Zumwalt West meant that they will now face off against Francis Howell Central, whom they are 1-1 with on the season. Good luck girls!

Boys and Girls Track and Field: With districts this past weekend continuing into today, it has been an amazing showing for the Crusaders. The relay teams have been getting better and better as of late with the girls 4×100 relay team breaking the school record for the second time this season. St. Dominic will be well represented at sectionals with many qualifiers in lots of events. Good luck to all of them at sectionals!

Boys Volleyball: The boys have had a very successful second half of the season with beating many teams who were ranked higher than them. Being placed as the fifth seed back in April, the boys have taken down the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th seeded teams since then in regular season play. The boys take on Fort Zumwalt East tonight for the district championship.

So we hope that this helped give some insight to how our spring teams are doing, and make sure to cheer each of them on as they try to bring all the trophies back to St. Dominic.
