St. Dominic is only three varsity football games in, and many players are already having to step up their roles due to starters dealing with injuries. Many underclassmen have had to change their roles with seniors out because of injury.

“Max Nash and Michael Muller did a good job on special teams last Friday,” Head Coach Markway said.

This past Friday, St. Dominic went head to head with Lutheran St. Charles. It was a tough game as Lutheran has one of the best football programs in Missouri.

“Lutheran was a very tough and athletic team. It was a challenging game to say the least we learned from the experience,” Nash Kell said.

As homecoming approaches, everybody gives just a little more as this is the most important game of the regular season as far as fans are concerned. Players are giving max effort at all practices this week in order to build up some last minute momentum to win this Friday.

“I have seen throughout the lead up to the game that the team is preparing well and being extremely focused throughout the week, so when we get to game time we are ready to follow the crusader bottom line. 1. Be a :06 competitor. 2. Know your assignment. 3. Be enthusiastic. 4. Play tough and physical,” Ethan Cornett said.

The St. Dominic football program has been hit with many challenges this season, but that doesn’t stop them from playing their best and gaining victories. The team has bonds greater than you can imagine, and with their hard work and dedication, they are bound for success.

“I’ve never been part of a team that is more of a brotherhood. We help each other out on the field; we meet outside of school to further the bond; we truly are a family, Gavin Stewart said.

This family hits the field Friday night to bring home a victory for what should be a packed house. Don’t miss the action which starts at 7:00 and watch this team go “All in” for its fans.
