With the NCAA March Madness tournament well underway, the sweet 16 is set to start on Thursday 24. Already, there have been some crazy upsets that have busted millions of fans’ brackets.

The first major upset that fans have been raving about is the story of 15 seed St. Peter’s University from New Jersey. The St. Peter’s Peacocks defeated the second seeded Kentucky Wildcats in the first round of the tournament. However, the Peacocks didn’t stop there. The team used this momentum to go on and defeat seven seeded Murray State in the round of 32. Now, they are set to play third seed Purdue Friday evening in the sweet 16. St. Peter’s looks to continue its Cinderella run and be the first 15 seed to advance to the elite eight.

“We have to put it behind us. It’s a quick turnaround, and we have to be prepared and keep on rolling,” St. Peter’s guard Doug Edert said to the NY Post.

There also have been many more surprises as two 11 seeds in Iowa state and Michigan have advanced. Alongside them, number 10 seeded Miami advanced to the sweet 16 and eight seed North Carolina have also punched their ticket to the sweet 16.

“This year has been full of upsets and that is what has made this tournament and sweet sixteen so exciting and fun to watch,” sophomore basketball fan Andrew Bodmer said.

All these upsets are sure to make a really exciting and unpredictable sweet 16. Be sure to watch March Madness and see if one of these lower seeded teams can pull off a tournament championship.
