The St. Dominic Varsity football boys are on fire as they continue their record-breaking season. Junior running back Jackson Overton contributed by breaking St. Dominic’s record for most career touchdowns after scoring his 37th last Friday.

This isn’t just a personal record, it’s a team record, and I couldn’t have done it without any of the guys up front

— Jackson Overton

The school record for most career touchdowns was previously held at 36 by Jacob Larson from 2014 to 2016. After scoring four TD’s and rushing 118 yards, Overton helped lead the team to their 54 to 14 victory over St. Francis Borgia at last week’s pink-out game.

“I have to credit the last three years and all of the hard work to my team. This isn’t just a personal record, it’s a team record, and I couldn’t have done it without any of the guys up front,” Overton said.

This incredible new feat comes only a few weeks after the Crusaders started their season by breaking the record for most points in a single game against St. Charles West. The Crusaders then tied their new record against Affton a week later in just their second game of the year.

The team is now 4-3 for the season and have already secured their spot in the district playoffs. The boys will play next Saturday at MICDS and finish the regular season on senior night at home against Westminster on October 22. Be sure to congratulate Overton and the entire team on their record-breaking season!
