Seniors Emily Baird, Maddie Kennedy, and Kennedy Mueller celebrate their senior night

The St. Dominic varsity golf team celebrated one of the school’s timeless traditions, senior night, on September 28.

Senior night is a tradition celebrated by many high school sports teams. The team recognizes the graduating seniors by giving them gifts, and sharing some of their favorite memories. This usually occurs at the last home event, giving the seniors a proper goodbye to the place they’ve called home the last four years. Senior Emily Baird has been on the team all four years, so she was feeling bittersweet at the idea of it all ending.

“It was my last home match at the course, and I’ve played for four years now. It’s sad, but we’re definitely leaving the team in good hands,” Baird said.

The golf team has three seniors, Emily Baird, Maddie Kennedy and Kennedy Mueller. Luckily, the girls varsity golf team were able to celebrate senior night during their last home match against Ursuline. The parents of the golfers were all able to organize food, and the seniors’ teammates had gifts for each senior.

“My favorite part of senior night was celebrating the last four years with the coach and the girls. They got us gifts and it was fun to celebrate as a team. We all got yeti cups and coffee cups to take with us to college, so it’s like we’ll always have a piece of the team with us,” said Mueller.

The team ended up winning their match, which added yet another victory to their season and made the night even sweeter. While the team is sad to lose three incredible seniors, the girls have done very well this year, and their season isn’t over yet! Make sure you check out the bulletin to stay updated on the girls’ ongoing victories! Hopefully, this year’s seniors have a successful finish to their season; we’re excited to see the great things they will do—on and off the course.
