The Champions Return to the Ice

The St. Louis Blues are back and better than ever with their first official season game on October 2. The team is rebounding like the champions they are, and they are more than ready to take on the 2019-2020 season.

The last thing the championship team has done is rest on their laurels after their big win. Since June, the Blues have made trades and changes to their program to continue bettering their chances at winning another Stanley Cup. On September 24, the Blues acquired Justin Faulk. Faulk is a three-time all-star defensemen and a huge gain for the St. Louis Blues. In the trade for Faulk, the Blues lost Joel Edmunson, who will be greatly missed. However, acquiring Faulk is a huge win for the Blues, and fans can’t wait to see what he will do for us this season.

Fans won’t have to wait long to see Faulk in action, as the Blues’ first game is October 2 against the Washington Capitals. To accompany the huge sign reading “Stanley Champions 2019” that hangs on the front of Enterprise Center, the Blues will have their banner raising ceremony prior to the game.

The ceremony will honor last year’s players and raise the 2019 Stanley Cup Champions banner into the rafters at Enterprise Center. The opening night rally starts at 3:00 p.m., followed by the blue carpet at 3:45 p.m. At 5:00 p.m., doors open to allow fans ample time to get to their seats for the banner ceremony at 6:45 p.m.

The St. Louis Blues are fired up for the new season and ready to defend their title as champions. They have been working nonstop to get even better than they were, so be sure to tune in to NBCSN this Tuesday, October 2, to watch the puck drop at 7 p.m.!
