Gearing up for the Grammys

The 61 Annual Grammy Awards are this Sunday, and fans are greatly anticipating this year’s winners.

With the well-renowned Alicia Keys hosting this year’s Grammys, it will surely not disappoint. There will also be many popular artists performing live: Camila Cabello, Cardi B, Dan + Shay, Post Malone with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Shawn Mendes, Janelle Monáe, Kacey Musgraves and Miley Cyrus.

Although there will be many winners in many different award categories, one of the most highly anticipated awards is Album of the Year. This award goes to the artist featured on the album, as well as the featured artists, songwriters, producers, recording engineers, mixers and mastering engineers. This year’s nominations for Album of the Year are Invasion of Privacy by Cardi B, By the Way, I Forgive You by Brandi Carlile, Scorpion by Drake, H.E.R by H.E.R, Beerbongs & Bentleys by Post Malone, Dirty Computer by Janelle Monáe, Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves and Black Panther: The Album, Music from and Inspired by.

Another huge and highly anticipated category for this year’s awards is Song of the Year. The Song of the Year is awarded to the songwriters of the track and it is for singles or tracks only. This year’s nominations for Song of the Year are “All the Stars” by Kendrick Lamar and SZA, “Boo’d Up” by Ella Mai, “God’s Plan” by Drake, “In My Blood” by Shawn Mendes, “The Joke”by Brandi Carlile, “The Middle” by Zedd and Maren Morris & Grey, “Shallow” by Lady GaGa and Bradley Cooper and “This is America” by Childish Gambino. These are only two categories out of the eight categories for the general field, so make sure to stay tuned for the whole show to see the results.
