Football

It’s fall, which means our Crusaders are gearing up for the start of football games under the Friday night lights. After a rocky season last year, the Crusaders are hoping to come out strong this fall.

“We have over 15 returning starters from last season, including a lot of seniors. Most of our starters are seniors and we all want to be successful more than ever. We are talented, experienced and have a lot of depth. I believe all these factors will help us be successful this season,” said senior player Josh Willenbrink.

The boys have been putting in a lot of hard work throughout the summer; if you want to see it all pay off, head down to the Crusader Stadium this Friday for their home-opener against St. Charles West.

Boys Soccer

The soccer boys are back on the turf, and they are ready for another great season. With 15 returning seniors, they have plenty of experience and talent on their side.

“The key part to our success this season is that we have 15 seniors on the team, which is more than we have had in a long time. That gives us a lot of experience,” said senior player Jake Lyons.

If you want to see our boys kick butt on the soccer field, head down to the stadium on Tuesday, September 4 for their home-opener against Holt.

Field Hockey

The chicks with sticks are back on the field and ready to dominate their second season as a field hockey team! The ladies made history last year as a new addition to St. Dominic athletics. With one year of experience under their belts, they are feeling confident about what this season will bring.

“We are going to surprise a lot of teams with the talent we have, even though all of us have only been playing a year or less,” said senior player Paige Morfeld.

Although they have many players returning from last year, there are a lot of brand new players. This second season will definitely be one to remember. Their first game is this Friday at Westminster, so make sure you head on out to support your lady Crusaders!

Girls Tennis

Our tennis girls are back on the courts and ready to dominate! The girls lost some talented seniors, but they are still feeling strong about the upcoming season. Come catch your girls on our home court on  August 30 for their home-opener against Rosati Kain.

Girls Volleyball

After a long and successful road to state last year, our volleyball ladies are back on the court and ready for another great season. With five returning seniors, the team is loaded with experience. Be sure to pack the gym on Wednesday, August 29 for the girls’ home-opener against Visitation Academy.

Girls Golf

Our golf girls are teeing up for yet another successful season. They hope to build on last year’s strong showing and are eagerlyanticipating what this year has in store.

“I am excited for the new St. Dominic golf bags and leading the upperclassmen to be the best team we can be!” said senior golfer Elana Freesmeier.

Wish the girls luck as they compete in their first match on August 27.

Softball

After winning districts last year, our softball girls are gearing up for the start of this upcoming season. The girls have been putting in the work, and they are ready to see where this season takes them.

“Most of the girls on the team have been preparing by playing summer select ball. We started practicing two weeks ago and have been working extremely hard as a team. The coaches have been preparing us both mentally and physically to start the season off strong,” said senior player Carly Bloomfield.

If you want to see the girls in action, head down to the softball field on August 28 for their home-opener!
