As football season starts up, here is where college and professional teams stand. College football started Labor Day weekend with high tier games week one. The NFL is starting up this week with Thursday night football, Friday night football in Brazil and with the regular games on Sunday. Many fans are fired up for football season to start back up.
“I’ve been a Steelers fan, I’m excited for this season to start back up, even though I don’t think the Steelers will be good but still excited,” senior Joey Weber said.
This NFL season will be one for the books with many new players and trades, like Aaron Rodgers as the Steelers quarterback. The Eagles finally kicked the Kansas City Chiefs off the podium, winning the Super Bowl last season. This season should be great for some but poor for others, like New Orleans Saints and Cleveland Browns fans with no real quarterback leading their team. This season starts off with Thursday night Football with the Super Bowl defending Eagles against their division rival Dallas Cowboys.
“I’m a huge Texas fan, I’m wanting them to win the national championship this year and have a great season, following that disappointing loss,” junior Chase Morris said.
This college football season started back up this past Labor Day weekend with week one bringing people into that football spirit once again. The Labor Day weekend games include, the hyped one seed Texas vs three seed Ohio State coming out to be an uneventful game, and Miami and Notre Dame giving us an exciting game. The first games also came with many blow outs and upsets, like USF vs Boise State and FSU vs Alabama. This college football season has already been very exciting for fans, and it’s only been one week.
This football season is projected to be an amazing one, with stands in every stadium, across the country, sold out in high school, college or NFL. Fans are excited to see their teams make it to the playoffs whether that’s in the local high school tournament, college football playoffs or the Super Bowl.
