Junior Grace Luedde is a stellar soccer player that has made quite the name for herself. She has been on the girls Varsity Soccer team for all three seasons. She was also named captain of the varsity team. She also is committed to play soccer at the University of Iowa State, and will join them in the fall of 2025. Luedde is an athletic and versatile player that has a lot of potential. She is one to watch for this 2024 season.
“Coming off of last year not finishing how we wanted to was tough, but I see a bright future for this team,” Grace said.
Luedde has had many accomplishments in her soccer career. One being a State Title in 2022 her freshman year. Being a freshman and winning a state championship, was Lueddes’ first highlight of her soccer career at Dominic. Despite being one of the younger players on the team at the time, she stepped into a role that helped her make a base foundation for her coming years. That is why she is now the captain of this varsity team as a junior. Grace then stepped into a bigger role her sophomore year by having more playing time and using it to her advantage by ending her season with nine goals, three assists, and a total of 21 points. Luedde now has grown and stepped up in her leadership to up those numbers, and keep gaining the respect of those around her.
“I am super excited to start this season. These girls are all special to me and we have got something different this year,” Luedde said.
Grace has the ability to lead on and off the field. She has a voice that carries with purpose and is a role model for the underclassman. She is a representation of a St. Dominic Crusader. The poise and determination she has is something that motivates the team to do better. She leads with her voice and backs it up with her play. The presence she brings on the field is calm and collected, but there is a fierceness to it. No doubt about it that Luedde will be the face of St. Dominic Soccer by the end of this season.
“I try my best to keep everyone engaged around me, and also to be positive at all times. I also try hard to not let my emotions rattle me,” Luedde said.
Keep your eye on this humble, athletic, and talented player. Luedde is one to watch. The next girls Varsity Soccer game is on March 22nd at 6pm. Make sure to go watch and support our girls and their season!!
