This 2024 spring season, St. Dominic welcomes the new freshmen girls soccer coach Ms. Jowers.
Ms. Jowers is an underclassman math teacher, and she is very excited to be a part of the St. Dominic community.
“I loved St. Dominic as soon as I walked in the door for my interview. I love the people and I like getting to know the kids, coaches, and the faculty. I got to know how strong everyone’s faith life was and how involved everyone was and it was a perfect fit,” Ms. Jowers said.
Additionally, Ms. Jowers has played soccer for the majority of her life, and even played in college at Lindenwood University. She is looking forward to coaching the girls this season.
“I played soccer a lot when I was younger, and as I got older I got way more into the sport and started taking an interest in all that the sport involved. I knew my time as a player was coming to an end, so I decided to coach and ended up really loving it,” Ms. Jowers said.
The other coaches are also very eager to be able to work with Ms. Jowers this upcoming season.
“Coach Jowers brings experience playing at Lindenwood and being able to pass on that knowledge will be very beneficial to the program,” Mr. Koeller said.
For soccer at St. Dominic, there is a lot of preseason preparation and training to get ready for the upcoming season. There are several coach’s meetings and preseason practices to get both the coaches and players ready for tryouts. This has given Ms. Jowers an opportunity to get situated for the season and interact with the girls.
“My favorite part is like getting to know the girls and watching them play and see their strengths and areas we can work on,” Ms. Jowers said.
In addition, Ms. Jowers has also been thinking about many goals that she has for the freshmen girls this upcoming season.
“My goal for the girls this season is for them to like believe that they can win 100% of their games and to actually execute that because I believe that they can,” Ms. Jowers said.
St. Dominic is so grateful to have this wonderful addition to the family and can not wait to see how well her players will perform this spring season.
