The Technological Evolution of Apple iPhones

The progression of Apple’s technology is evolving at rapid rate

Every year, Apple releases new products to the world, their most recent being the iPhone 15. This product was released on September 22nd, 2023, and has brought forward new technology and features.

Apple iPhones have adapted in an astronomical way since 2007. The first iPhone was revolutionary. It featured a web browser, built in MP3 player, the idea of apps and a touch screen. Little did people know, this was just the beginning.

After this, iPhones began to add extra features to every phone that made them better than before. More storage, better camera quality, thinner phones, and plus models. A significant milestone was when Apple created a phone, called the iPhone X, with no home button. This is when Face ID came into play, which used a TrueDepth camera system.

iPhones have become such an important part of our everyday lives. We use them to communicate with people, research things on the internet, and partake in social media. These phones have also let us capture memories to look back on, and remember forever. Camera quality and storage kept improving on every phone after this but the prices increased significantly for iPhones. The newest model announced was the iPhone 15. This phone will have a sleek design and a faster processor.

Since the announcement of the iPhone 15, there has been some controversy over how different this phone really is from others. Users have described this phone as disappointing, to say the least. The new features will include improved camera quality, an action button which will replace the mute button, and new phone colors.

One major thing that will change is the charging cord. iPhones will no longer include the regular lighting charger, but will instead include a USB-C charger. Although there are minor changes, users are wondering how different this phone is from the iPhone 14.

With the announcement of this phone, also came the announcement of iOS 17. Some features of this update include checking in when you’re home safe, the ability to set numerous timers, StandBy Mode, which means when your phone is flipped horizontally or charging, the phone will turn into a clock. Some other features are stickers in messages, more effects in video calls, visual voicemails for when you FaceTime someone and they do not answer, in-line replies in messages, NameDrop or contact info, locked private browsing, and a journal app.

These innovations are constantly improving the quality of iPhones. The evolution of these phones have been mind blowing. Who knows what is in store for the future of Apple products.
