Chicken N’ Pickle: Coming in Hot

New+restaurant+to+treat+many+to+a+pickleball+dining+experience
Chicken N’ Pickle
New restaurant to treat many to a pickleball dining experience

Coming later this year, a popular chain is bringing Pickleball to the Streets of St. Charles, and surrounding areas. Chicken N Pickle, a unique entertainment complex, aims to provide a fun atmosphere for individuals of all ages, to play Pickleball and eat delicious BBQ.

Pickleball as a sport is growing in popularity day by day, and its presence in the St. Dominic community and throughout St. Charles County is already expanding. Over the last three years, 156% more people have become avid Pickleballers — meaning there are now over 8.9 million players nationally!

“I took up playing Pickleball over the summer. It started as a joke, but eventually my friend and I would meet up and play a couple times a week,” Senior Megan Osterholt said.

With such a spike in relevance, it only makes sense that establishments like Pickle N’ Chicken would arrive to take advantage of the craze. Opening day is set for late 2023, and the sports complex/restaurant hybrid will boast eleven Pickleball courts (both indoors and outdoors!) as well as delicious foods. As the name would suggest, their specialty appears to be chicken wings.

“When I first heard Chicken N’ Pickle was coming to town I considered getting a job there. Although I didn’t end up applying, I still look forward to playing and eating there with friends, ” Senior Maddie Tresossor said.

Chicken N’ Pickle invites individuals of all ages to come and play. In addition to their Pickleball courts, they offer other entertainment options such as shuffleboard, cornhole, and ping-pong.

“I love pickleball, but it’s good to do other things too. Honestly, being able to just play in a fun, but still competitive environment is great,” Junior Ava Gandolfo said.

Many individuals underestimate how addicting pickleball can be. Whether you play at a park, at home, or even in an indoor club you’re guaranteed a good time.
