Olivia’s Letter

Dear Crusaders and Crusaderettes,

As my time at Dominic comes to a close, I would like to share with you all two phrases I live by. The first being: just roll with it. Many times in high school and the rest of your life, your plans will change, things won’t work out the way you want and you will wish that you could have done something different or handled a situation better. You have to learn to just go with it. You can’t change what already happened, and your plans will rarely go accordingly. You have to remember that it doesn’t matter; those plans won’t ruin the rest of high school, and bad decisions won’t define you. Things are gonna happen that sometimes suck and ruin your day. You don’t have to let it ruin everything though. Make new plans, be friends with everybody, try new things and if it doesn’t work out there’s more things to try and more plans to make that you will just have to change again. You can’t change what already happened, but you can try and fix it. And if it doesn’t work out, then it just wasn’t meant to be.

My second phrase goes pretty much with the first—Just shake it off. You are going to mess up like a lot. You are probably going to get a bad grade, so do better next time. If you play bad in a game, don’t dwell on it, there will be another. Get into a fight with your bestie, and then talk it out. Shaking it off is my absolute motto. Sometimes a girl (or a guy) just has to shake it off and roll with whatever comes next.

From your homie, even if don’t know me,
