What is Impeachment?

There’s quite a buzz going around about President Trump being impeached, but does everyone really know what “impeachment” means? The White House does, as this isn’t it’s first rodeo when it comes to impeaching presidents.

The textbook definition of impeachment is a charge of misconduct made against the holder of a public office. It does not take that person out of office, but rather puts them on trial for what they have been accused of.

President Clinton went through the impeachment process in 1998, and President Nixon left office in 1974 before his impeachment could follow through. Now Trump is facing the threat of impeachment, and he is doing everything he can to fight it.

Even though Trump denies every accusation against him, many people are still accusing him of telling the Ukrainian government to investigate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, for his own domestic political gain. If the favor is found to be solely for Trump’s gain, then it would be considered against the law.

“This is simply about a phone conversation that could not have been nicer, warmer or better. No pressure at all (as confirmed by Ukrainian Pres.). It is just another Democrat Hoax!” Trump tweeted.

President Trump is not planning on giving up his fight against his impeachment, but his opponents are not backing down anytime soon either. Both sides have strong opinions and are fighting for what they believe!
