Springing into Style: 2016 Spring Fashion Trends

Spring has sprung and so have new fashion trends! Spring is the start of warmer weather, which means it is time to put the heavy boots and coats away, and time to bring out the sandals and light cardigans.

For the past couple of weeks now, I have been scoping magazines, different stores and even their websites, trying to discover some potential new trends. With this research, I have found a certain material, shoe and color that I believe are making their way into the fashion scene this spring season.

  1. Linen

A material that I have seen all over stores this spring is linen. I walked into Old Navy over spring break and saw linen everywhere in the form of pants, shorts, dresses and rompers. Personally, I am a huge fan of the linen trend, already being an owner of a pair of linen pants. The linen material is light enough for the spring and comes in a multitude of colors and patterns. Paired with a V-neck T-shirt or flowy blouse, the linen pants/shorts give the outfit an effortless look.

  1. Lace-Up Sandalsimage

Once spring rolls around, the sandals come out. One sandal I have seen lately is the lace-up. Sometimes referred to as “the gladiator sandal,” they can come in a variety of styles such as mid-calf or below-the-knee. I have also seen the sandal come in a pleather material, and my personal favorite, suede.

  1. Mustard Yellowimage

A few weeks ago, I was browsing Forever 21’s website looking for things to add to my birthday wishlist. While scrolling through, I found one common color theme: mustard yellow. Rompers, dresses, blouses…if you can name it, it came in the color mustard yellow.

Mustard yellow is a great color to wear during the upcoming warmer months. It is the perfect shade to wear as your outfit’s dominant color, but it is also great for adding little pops of color to a more neutral-toned outfit.

Try out a few of these trends and other ones you might see this spring! With fashion, it is all about being yourself and experimenting with what you like. Since spring is finally here, the fashion possibilities are now completely endless. Have fun and always remember, happy dressing!
