As the final weeks of high school quickly approach for the graduating class of 2025, it is important to stay informed about key dates and events leading up to graduation. Whether it’s exam schedules, prom, or the anticipated graduation ceremony, there is plenty for seniors to note about the upcoming weeks.
Starting with the calendar, seniors will have a day off on April 8 due to underclassmen ACT testing. The excitement of prom will take place on May 2 at Old Hickory, followed by the last day of school for seniors on May 9, which will feature an early dismissal at 11:10 AM. Senior exams are scheduled for May 12 and 13, providing students with the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge before graduation. Honors Night, set for May 15, will celebrate the achievements of select students.
Graduation practice is mandatory for all seniors and will occur on May 21 from 10:00 AM to noon. The graduation ceremony itself is scheduled for the same day at 7:30 PM in Crusader Stadium, with admission strictly by ticket only. Each senior is allotted six tickets for guests, and families are encouraged to carpool to ease parking concerns. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will move indoors to the Fallon Family Center, where each student will be limited to two guests.
Seniors should also take note of the dress code for graduation. Ladies are required to wear white gowns with a white or very light-colored dress underneath, while gentlemen will wear blue gowns accompanied by a dress shirt and tie. This attention to detail ensures that the graduation ceremony is a memorable and dignified occasion for all.
Graduation is a milestone moment, and these final weeks will be filled with celebrations, academic achievements, and lasting memories. Make sure to stay on top of these important dates and requirements to ensure a smooth transition as you complete your time at St. Dominic High School. Congratulations to the class of 25, and for the underclassmen, continue to work hard and finish out the year strong!
Lastly, although it does not apply to students who are graduating this year, finals will now be the week of May 20th, with Reading Day beginning on May 19th, rather than the 26th. This means that students who are not seniors only have less than 50 days to complete before wrapping up their school year!
