The beginning of Spring has brought many things, one being a new and beloved coffee shop: Dutch Bros. Located only five minutes from St. Dominic, the shop has quickly become a favorite amongst staff and students.
Dutch Bros is similar to other popular shops such as Starbucks, as they have a large menu containing energy drinks, coffees, and treats.
“I prefer 7 brew over Dutch Bros. 7 brew is closer to me and they have more of a variety,” senior Hannah Fischer said.
Over time, Dutch Bros locations have grown all throughout the nation. Originally started in Oregon, the business began in 2000, and spread across the northwest. Their well-known mission is to “make a massive difference, one cup at a time.” Luckily, the beloved coffee company has finally made it to O’Fallon and has already stirred excitement in the St. Dominic community.
“I’ve seen Dutch Bros all over TikTok, so when I heard it was coming to O’Fallon I got super excited to try it,” sophomore Alia Warren said.
Although they have a large variety of drinks, the most popular drinks are categorized as “Dutch Faves.” This includes many coffee drinks such as the “Golden Eagle”, which includes Espresso, Caramel and Vanilla Breve with Caramel drizzle. Additionally, the “ANNIHILATOR” is popular as it includes Espresso and Chocolate Macadamia Nut Breve.
“Even though they have a large variety of drinks, my personal favorite is after shock,” senior Amelia Reeves said.
Besides coffee, Dutch Bros is home to many other drinks. This includes their Rebel Energy drinks which are completely customized by you. They also have sparkling soda’s, lemonades, and smoothies that are available for all non-coffee lovers. For those that prefer food, they have a slight selection of pastries.
“I’m not really a coffee drinker nor a fan so I can’t wait to try the energy drinks and the pastries,” senior Bella Gerberding said.
Many St. Dominic students have received part-time jobs at Dutch Bros. Although the hiring process was rumored to be very detailed and difficult, employees have already claimed interviewing was worth it.
“I love having my caffeine before school, because it helps me get through the day. I love that Dutch Bros is on my way to school,” senior Izzy Stockmann said.
Caffeine is a must-have for staff and students alike. That being said, don’t be afraid to give Dutch Bros a try. It’s home to a large variety of drinks and treats that will help power you through your day.
