Although the end of the school year is just around the corner, the year can’t be complete without Celebrate St. Dominic Day! This annual celebration takes place on May 2nd, and is jam- packed with fun activities including bouncy houses, snow cones, donuts, and fundraisers!
As students walk into school Thursday, they will be asking to give $10 that will be given back to the St. Dominic community and support the Crusader Day fun!
First thing Thursday morning, students can expect a delicious donut for breakfast. This treat is the best way to kick off the day, as more and more fun will come later. Starting off the morning with a yummy donut gives everyone the right amount of sugar to carry them until lunch, where there is even more fun.
“I’m not a big breakfast eater, so walking into school and getting a donut really lets me get through my day strong,” junior Bella Gerberding said.
Everyone loves empower hour each day, but this Thursday adds ten times more fun during lunch. St. Dominic brings in snow cones and lots of bouncy houses for all the students to enjoy. Crusader Day is the time to get up and have fun with friends and fellow classmates for 55 minutes. Although this year, seniors get an extra 30 minutes to themselves to enjoy their final day of classes.
“I really enjoy Crusader Day, because during lunch I get the chance to relax with a sweet treat and have fun with my friends,” junior Izzy Stockman said.
As soon as the bell rings, and as students flood the parking lots, they are treated with a popsicle. This is the cherry on top and another special surprise students of all grade levels look forward to. Although it might be a small token of appreciation for Dominic’s students, it’s yet another great way to end the day.
Although Celebrate St. Dominic is only an annual event, it’s a great way to bring together the St. Dominic community and celebrate our surroundings. St. Dominic is a special place, and although we might not realize it everyday, this event allows us to appreciate the little things.
