It’s the most wonderful time of the year, which means Christmas music is back in season. But, what are the best Christmas songs to listen to? St. Dominic students gave their opinion on their favorite Christmas songs.
“Any Mariah Carey song is hands down the best Christmas song,” Junior Alex Alsop said.
I would have to agree with Alex. Mariah Carey definitely has some of the best Christmas songs. My personal favorite song of hers would have to be All I Want For Christmas. It’s a song that me, and my family listen to every single Christmas.
“Dominic the Donkey is my favorite Christmas song because my freshman year Mr. Koeller played it, but he played it nonstop for so many days. At first I hated it, but then it started to grow on me ,so I would have to say Dominic the Donkey is the best Christmas song,” Senior John Paul Baldetti said.
Now, during my freshman year I too had to experience the wonderful song called Dominic the Donkey. It is an experience that many freshmen experience each year, and it has become a song that echoes throughout the halls at St. Dominic.
“My favorite Christmas song is Jingle Bell Rock. It’s my favorite because I performed it in a concert in preschool, so it holds a special place in my Christmas spirit,” Jack Cherniawski said.
One of the most controversial arguments is when Christmas music should be played. Some people think that it should be played as soon as Thanksgiving hits. Others think that it should be played in December, and others listen to it all year round.
“I think Christmas music should be played December 1st through December 25. I know some other people might prefer listening to it a little earlier, but I feel like that’s a good length of time,” Troy Perhacs said.
One thing that everyone can agree on is that Christmas music is one of the best parts of the season. Now whether you prefer the newer stuff, or the classics, we can all agree that it’s a very important part of the holiday season.
