May is the biggest month of the year for movie productions. This upcoming month will be the beginning of most 2023 blockbuster movies. As of right now there are already four big movies coming out this May, expecting to start off this cinematic season right. 

The final volume of Guardians of The Galaxy (Vol 3), directed by James Gunn, is coming out May 5, 2023. From what we know from volume 1 and 2, Peter Quill is still recovering from the loss of Gamora and will reunite his team. 

Knights of the Zodiac comes out May 12, 2023 and is directed by Thomas Baginski. This story is about an orphan who accidentally gains secret powers. He realizes he might be the only person alive who can protect a reincarnated goddess who was sent to earth to watch over the world and those in it. 

Fast X, directed by Louis Letterrier, is going to be released on May 19, 2023. Fast X is going to be about Dom Toretto and his family who have outsmarted anyone who challenges them. Now, they must confront their toughest opponent yet. A huge threat then emerges from their past to destroy Dom’s world along with anyone and everything that is important to him. 

The Little Mermaid, directed by Rob Marshall, has a release date of May 26, 2023. This new live action version of the classic story incorporates a new Ariel as a woman of color. This movie is expected to be a huge hit nationwide. In this version,  Ariel longs to find out more about the world outside of the ocean. Similar to the original, Ariel makes a deal with Ursula, the antagonist of the film. 

These four films are just the beginning of the biggest cinematic time of the year. Be sure to watch these next couple of films to prepare for even more to come this summer
